Today is Juno's 1st Birthday! Hard to believe that an entire year has gone by since she came into this world, and yet it's hard to remember a time before she was here. The lives of her family and friends are better because she is here and it's only a matter of time before she spreads her magic around the world, making it a better place.

Celebrating One Year of Juno

When you are as popular as the Junebug, you can't have just ONE birthday party. Oh no. Celebrating someone as special as this girl means multiple parties in multiple cities. Last weekend kicked off the Bay Area extravaganza. It was THE social event of the year, Lovey.

We deferred to Juno's discriminating taste when choosing wine to accompany our flank steak, salad and potatoes.

What a Difference a Year Makes...

One year ago today, Aunt Jenn threw a shower for Mommy and Daddy:

There's a Shnoo in that belly!

No one knew for sure if we would be falling in love with a little girl or a little boy, as Mommy and Daddy wanted to wait for a happy surprise when Baby Fleetfoot made his or her debut in the world. Auntie Christen so wanted a little girl: someone she could take to Sephora AND baseball games. A wee girl who would enjoy tea sandwiches AND getting dirty. I hoped and prayed for a healthy baby, whatever the gender, but somehow knew there would be a whole lotta pink and tutus come May.

And the sweet baby girl was born exactly one month later.

Thank you for 11 months of smiles and laughs and kisses, Juno. You have been so loved and adored and wished for before we even met you!

Friday Fun

Fridays are pretty great in and of themselves, but add in some pictures of Juno? Blammo! Instant Party.

Mommy's update: "She is inching up on 11 months old, has 6 teeth and is getting ready to walk all by herself."

Juno, Mommy and Daddy are flying to the East Coast tomorrow for Auntie Calies' wedding (Hooray!) and to visit some of Daddy's relatives. Ten bucks says she has them charmed in a matter of seconds.

Like any reasonable lady, Juno tried on the dresses Mommy bought for the big trip. It's important to have options!

Juno brought Mommy up to visit the family in Menlo Park...so Auntie hopped in her truck and jetted down to meet up with them for the day! So worth it.

Get ready to shop, Juno! We need to get you something suitably sassy for Auntie Calies' big day!

There was Lili and Nick. They loved each other so much they decided to get married.

Lots of family and friends gathered on the beach to see the happy couple on their special day.

The beautiful bride's Daddy walked her down the aisle...

The wedding party was SO EXCITED that they couldn't stand still!

There was beautiful music...

And impressive dance moves.

And at the end of the day, there was a very happy couple with equally happy families and friends...all excited for the day we would see them become parents. A beautiful beginning to a beautiful family!

Woefully Behind

Juno, Mommy, Daddy and the entire family wish you a Happy New Year! Junebug managed to squeeze in some pretty serious milestones before the close of 2008. Here's to a healthy, wonderful new year for the little lady and her loved ones!

Someone decided to cut her first two teeth (front row bottom) just in time for a trip to Papa's for Christmas? It was nice for Mommy and Daddy to have an answer to, "Why is Juno a little fussy and not sleeping well?" By the time Santa arrived the wee one was back to her usually bubbly self. Seemed like a good time to try her first rice cereal. I can't tell if she likes it in this photo, but the expression on her face is priceless.

Merry First Christmas, Juno! Daddy and Juno bundled up and enjoying a California winter.

Lucky Auntie Christen was able to see Juno and the fam - including Papa and Uncle Russ - and boogie down. She has good moves...must take after Mommy!

The Many Names of Juno

Juno's Mommy and I are both huge on nicknames. We have dozens for each other, and it looks like the wee girl is headed for the same fate. Poor kid will be so confused the first day of school when the teacher calls out "Juno" at this rate. Since we both tend to use the various nicknames at random, here's a little cheat-sheet for you.

Junebug (hence, the title of the blog)

Jujubee

Shnoo

Milkface

Baby Juju

Junebug all set for yoga.

I expect the list to grow as she gets older. Feel free to come up with your own special name(s) for the Junebug. It might help her to have aliases should she choose a life as a secret agent or something equally awesome.

Man, for being a baby the Shnoo sure has been busy. Check out some of her "firsts" from the last seven months.

First time crawling. Girlie can move it!

Um, is this her first time rolling over? Or holding up her head? We'll just say it is.

Juno's First Months

Here is a sampling of photos over the last seven months of Juno's life. I think I have these more or less in chronological order. The growth and change that has taken place is a miracle if you think about it. It wasn't that long ago that she couldn't hold up her head, and now she crawls, plays and entertains everyone around her. She brings such joy to this world already!

Hello Juno Fans!

This is Auntie Christen, happily writing the first of what we hope will be many wonderful posts about Juno Constance Fleetfoot. Juno's Mommy and I will be updating this site with pictures, milestones, and stories about everyone's favorite baby girl. We're new to this whole co-blogging thing, so bear with us as we work out technical difficulties and get into a groove.

I am honored that Juno's Mommy is letting me be part of this. I suspect she's placating me so I don't share any stories of Mommy's wild youth, but that's cool.
